What initially drew your family to our school community?
What first drew our family to Mount Helix Academy was the intentionally small class sizes and the opportunity for truly individualized learning. Knowing that each classroom averages around ten students gave us confidence that our children would receive meaningful one-on-one attention and support. We were also especially impressed by the school’s flexible academic model, where students can be placed in different grade levels depending on their strengths in each subject. That approach signaled to us that the school is deeply committed to meeting children where they are and helping them reach their fullest potential.
How would you describe your family’s experience since joining the school?
Our experience at Mount Helix Academy has been overwhelmingly positive. From the very beginning, we have felt welcomed into a close-knit, supportive community where both students and families are valued. The teachers and staff are attentive, communicative, and genuinely invested in each child’s success. Our children feel seen, encouraged, and excited to go to school each day, which speaks volumes about the environment the school has created. We currently have three out of our four children enrolled at MHA and we are excited for our littlest to join the MHA family when he’s of age as well!

What aspects of the school’s philosophy or programs resonate most with your family’s values?
We deeply appreciate the school’s commitment to individualized education and its recognition that every child learns differently. The ability for students to advance in subjects where they excel, while receiving support in areas that need growth, aligns perfectly with our belief in nurturing each child’s unique abilities. We also value the emphasis on building confidence, independence, and a love of learning, which are qualities that extend far beyond the classroom.
How has the school supported your children’s academic and personal growth?
Mount Helix Academy has supported our children by creating an environment where they can truly thrive both academically and personally. The individualized attention they receive allows teachers to understand their strengths and challenges on a deeper level. Academically, they are challenged in ways that keep them engaged and motivated. Personally, we have seen tremendous growth in their confidence, independence, and willingness to take on new challenges. They feel supported, which empowers them to stretch themselves and grow.

Are there any particular experiences that have made a lasting impact on your children at MHA?
One of the most impactful aspects of their experience has been the ability to learn at their own pace and level in each subject. This has allowed each of our children to feel both challenged and successful, which has greatly strengthened their confidence.
Additionally, Celeste and Sienna’s involvement in the school musical has been an especially meaningful experience. It has given them the opportunity to grow socially, build confidence, and form friendships beyond their immediate classrooms. Being part of a collaborative production has allowed them to connect with students in other grades, creating a broader sense of community and belonging that has been incredibly special to watch.
Beyond academics and activities, the relationships they have built with their teachers and peers have been incredibly meaningful. They feel genuinely known and supported, and that sense of belonging has made a lasting impression on them. As a family, we are so grateful to be part of a community that fosters both excellence and care.
