At Mt. Helix Academy, we are committed to helping every student achieve academic success. We recognize that students learn in different ways and may need varying levels of support throughout their educational journey. From supervised study halls and Homework Club to individualized tutoring and personalized instructional support through our AIM HIGH Program, Mt. Helix Academy provides a continuum of academic support designed to help students build confidence, strengthen skills, and reach their full potential.

Study Hall

3rd-5th

The first 45 minutes of after-school care consists of a supervised study hall where students may work quietly on homework and assignments.

Jr. High

A supervised study hall is available from 3:30 PM–4:30 PM in the Jr. High Annex.
Led by a Jr. High teacher
Homework assistance available as needed
Designed to support independent study habits and academic success
A student studies in the classroom.

Some students may benefit from more individualized assistance than study hall can provide. Please see the Academic Tutoring & Instructional Supports page for additional information.

Homework Club

Homework Club

Homework Club is designed for students who need personalized academic support in a small group setting. With a maximum teacher-to-student ratio of 1:5, students receive personalized support to:

Stay organized
Develop effective study habits
Complete assignments successfully
Strengthen understanding of academic concepts
Build confidence and independence
Students work in the classroom at Mt. Helix Academy.

Homework Club Schedule

Monday–Thursday from 3:15 PM–4:15 PM
Students not picked up at the end of the session will be checked into the after-school childcare program and should be picked up from the Activity Center.
Not offered during school holidays or special school events

Academic Tutoring

Mt. Helix Academy offers one-to-one academic tutoring for students who would benefit from individualized instruction, targeted skill development, or additional support in specific subject areas. Tutoring is provided by highly qualified teachers who tailor instruction to each student’s unique learning needs and academic goals.

Instructional Support Program

Aim High provides individualized academic and learning support for students who benefit from additional instruction, executive functioning support, or specialized learning strategies during the school day.

Support may be provided in specific subject areas or through a more comprehensive program, depending on a student’s needs. Aim High teachers work collaboratively with classroom teachers and families to help students build confidence, develop skills, and achieve success.
